According to the Daily Star, Chelsea are willing to part with four players to sign Declan Rice.

The Blues have enjoyed a hugely productive summer that has seen them strengthen tremendously. Frank Lampard’s side have brought in five first-team stars who are ready to make an immediate impact.

Chelsea’s summer outlay saw them bring in Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva and Kai Havertz. With a deal for Edouard Mendy nearing completion, the number could soon become six.

There appears to be no shortage of excitement as the Blues are now preparing a plan to land Declan Rice.

According to the report, Lampard has made the West Ham United star his priority for the remainder of the window. With the summer transfer window set to close on October 5, there is still time for the Blues to make a move.

The Hammers are holding onto their star for now and have brushed away interest from across the city. With them struggling to get rid of their highest earners, their stance could soften in the coming weeks.

This will come as welcome news to Chelsea who erred in releasing Rice from their youth system at the age of 14. The likes of Tiemoue Bakayoko, Jorginho, Danny Drinkwater and Andreas Christensen could be the players to make way.

Of the lot, Drinkwater looks to be the most difficult to find a buyer for. His massive £100,000-a-week wages combined with disastrous spells on loan to Aston Villa and Burnley have seen his stock fall.
