Maatsen also grabbed the spotlight in the Dortmund quarterfinal second-leg clash against Atletico Madrid, where he scored an important goal to spearhead his side to the semi-final, and now going into the second leg of the last four, the German club will have a key advantage.

Maatsen will have a massive chance to steer his side to the final of the Champions League for the first time in his playing career after the fullback was neglected at Chelsea and didn’t get deserving minutes on the pitch.

The move to Dortmund looked more sensible than ever, where many young players have established themselves as prominent players. It’s Maatsen’s first season only at the Bundesliga club, and he has already made himself a star of the team and became a regular starter.
