United coach writes off Blues’ chances

Manchester United first-team coach Rene Meulensteen say the Chelsea’s squad is “too old” to compete with Sir Alex’s side in the Premier League this season.
The coach feels that their local rivals Manchester City and new-look Liverpool side also will not be able to keep up with their young stars as they look to win their 20th title.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  He told the Daily Star:
“We are not afraid of anyone at all.
“City have made very good signings, but we have something they don’t possess. We know what it takes to win trophies.
“City are still a big rival. But Arsenal have gone backwards, Liverpool are still in a stage of rebuilding and Chelsea have just made one major signing in Juan Mata.
“Besides, Chelsea’s squad is too old, and their tempo is not high enough to win the Premier League.”
These are fighting words from Rene Meulensteen, ones that AVB will hopefully use to inspire the team when the two side meet later this month.
