Chelsea ready to pay €60 million for Serie A ace in January

Chelsea are ready to make a €60 million bid for Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic in January

According to Fichajes, Premier League giants Chelsea are ready to fork out €60 million to land Juventus ace Dusan Vlahovic in the upcoming January transfer window.

The Blues were linked with the Serbian earlier this summer, with a swap deal involving Romelu Lukaku also discussed. However, it all came to nought and Vlahovic stayed put at the Allianz Stadium. Coming off the back of a poor 2022/23 campaign, the striker had much to prove and is going about restoring his reputation this season.

With four goals and an assist in four games so far this season, the 23-year-old has hit the ground running. The link-up with Federico Chiesa is playing a key role in Juventus’s strong start to the campaign.

The Blues have spent big money in recent transfer windows but question marks remain regarding certain positions in the squad. One of those is upfront where Chelsea lack a reliable goalscorer who can find the back of the net with ease.

With the January window coming up, Todd Boehly and Co might be ready to do what they do best-bring in players. A renewed attempt to land Vlahovic could be made to boost Mauricio Pochettino’s attacking options for the second half of the season.

Despite his good start this season, Vlahovic’s standing in Turin is far from secure. He has largely struggled in Massimiliano Allegri’s system and unless a semblance of consistency he showed while at Fiorentina can be generated, Juventus might be open to offers.

Chelsea will, however, have to face competition from both Real Madrid and Arsenal for the Serbian star. But then given how we don’t take kindly to teams outbidding us, there is always hope that the Blues can come out on top.

At 23, Vlahovic can be a long-term solution for Chelsea’s goalscoring woes. He fits the club’s model of bringing in young players and should appeal to the recruitment team. More so, he is clinical in the box and could be a difference-maker for us, given the attacking cast ready to support him at Stamford Bridge.
