Romelu Lukaku, one of Chelsea’s controversial summer hires, was recruited for a record cost in the 2021–22 season, although he only spent a short time at the club before openly expressing his desire to return to Inter Milan in an interview.

The Belgian striker departed on loan because Inter was unable to match the price Chelsea paid to sign him.

another impressive acquisition Timo Werner, who was signed with such high expectations, fell short and was eventually returned to RB Leizipg.

However, the Blues regretted giving away Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger, who are having fantastic seasons at Real Madrid and Barcelona, respectively.

Chelsea have been spending lavishly under the new owners, and it all started in the 2022 summer transfer window when Todd Boehly brought in a number of high-priced recruits like Raheem Sterling, Wesley Fofana, and Marc Cucurella when Thomas Tuchel was in charge of the team.

Although they had a rough start to the new season, the new signings put very little effort into the matches; yet, they had a good run under Tuchel’s leadership.

The Blues’ time, however, quickly turned sour once the German manager was abruptly fired. Boehly subsequently hired Graham Potter, who had a brief winning streak, and everything quickly fell apart.

Boehly once again spent exorbitant money in the 2023 winter window as Chelsea smashed the British transfer record to buy Enzo Fernandez in the 2022–23 winter transfer window as a result of player injuries.

After losing Mason Mount, Mateo Kovacic, and N’Golo Kante, Chelsea made smart signings in the summer of 2023 and were able to secure the services of their main targets, Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia.

Chelsea did well to address their midfield and has added some excellent players to it. In order to reduce the bloated suqad they inherited from signing numerous players during the 2023 Winter window, they have also sold a lot of deadwood during this summer’s transfer window.

Chelsea began their summer transfer season by offloading surplus players like Christian Pulisic and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. They also leased away Romelu Lukaku and Hakim Zieych.

The club made significant sales during the summer transfer window since they released more players.

Chelsea will be looking to avoid repeating the last season of the Premier League which they placed 12th. Pochettino has been viewed as a manager who will aid in the development of young players into future club stars because Chelsea has exclusively signed young players during Todd Boehly’s ownership.

The American businessman has made the commitment to sign young players in an effort to create a winning club around them.
