Chelsea’s squad saw a major shift this summer. Superstars such as N’Golo Kante, Koulibaly, Edouard Mendy and Mateo Kovacic left while Todd Boehly and Clearlake Captital’s investment in youngsters reached new heights.

We now have a very, very young squad that features the likes of Nicolas Jackson, Mykhaylo Mudryk and Cole Palmer in the final third. There seems to be a major imbalance in terms of experience and youth but it seems the club have adopted a strategy for the long term.

And so, it makes sense to be patient and see where Mauricio Pochettino’s team are headed from here. The current squad is undoubtedly one no fan envisaged a few months before the summer transfer window opened. It is one of the most peculiar ones in our club’s modern history but it has the potential to rewrite history at Stamford Bridge.
