Journo confirms that injured Chelsea star has hit a snag in his recovery

Nathan Gissing confirms that Chelsea star Benoit Badiashile has sustained a minor setback amid his injury recovery

According to journalist Nathan Gissing, Chelsea star Benoit Badiashile suffered a new setback during his hamstring recovery last week and will now return to individual training.

The centre-back will then start group training next week, keeping him on the sidelines for a longer period of time. The former AS Monaco player picked up a hamstring injury last season and was expected to be back before the start of the new campaign.

Chelsea have been dealing with a growing list of injuries, and now the Frenchman’s return could be delayed once again. However, thanks to their depth of defence we have many options.

Alongside Badiashile, Wesely Fofana has been ruled out for an entire season after suffering a knee injury during training before the start of the new season. His new setback will be a frustrating update for Mauricio Pochettino.

The 22-year-old has shown promise since joining Chelsea for £35 million. Mauricio Pochettino has yet to see Badisahile deliver. His delayed comeback could force the Argentine boss to reshuffle his options at the back.

Now Chelsea will have to maybe wait for another month for his return as the Blues endure a poor start to the new campaign, with just one win in five Premier League games. The sooner we can get our top players back, the easier life would become for Mauricio Pochettino and Co.

We are currently unfortunate to have a great deal of injured players, and what’s worse is that as they recover from their injuries, little problems start to arise that cause them to delay their return. Our medical staff appears to be struggling to do everything possible to keep the players fully recovered, which is something that should be taken very seriously.

Last year, Badiashile showed promise, and if he hadn’t gotten hurt, he would undoubtedly be one of our regular starting centre-backs. We might already be in the thick of the season whenever he returns since it will take him some time to regain that momentum. All we can hope for is that he bounces back quickly from his slight setback.
