“My girlfriend and I feel very comfortable”- Bayern Munich-linked star pledges loyalty to Chelsea

Kai Havertz insists he is happy at Chelsea and rules out a move to Bayern Munich

Speaking to Phrasenmaher, a podcast by German outlet SportBild, quoted by Goal (h/t Football.London), Chelsea forward Kai Havertz has confirmed that he is happy at Chelsea and ruled out a potential move to Bayern Munich in the summer.

Following the appointment of former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel at Bayern, Havertz is one of the few Blues players linked for a reunion with Tuchel in the German capital. Mason Mount is the other prominent name.

The German international is instead focusing on doing well for Chelsea in the Champions League and hoping to spearhead them in that. Two years ago, it was his winning goal in the final that won this competition for the Blues. A repeat of that would be lovely.

Here’s what Havertz said about his time at Chelsea and more (h/t Football.London):

“I still have a two-year contract, I don’t have to move every two to three years. My girlfriend and I feel very comfortable in London. I love the club, the people and the fans. At the moment we’re still in the Champions League.

“My goal is to reach the final again. Football is very fast-paced, you never know what will happen. We’ll see what happens in the summer. I’m not thinking about that.”

With Graham Potter sacked, the future of the 23-year-old may well depend on who the next permanent manager of the team is. Right now, Frank Lampard is the interim boss for the rest of this season.

Although he is a talented player who can give a lot to the team, Havertz has struggled with consistency in the final third for a while now. The game against Liverpool once again showed that he is not the one to be leading the Chelsea line for years to come.

But, if the club manages to sign a competent number nine, the German can play as a number 10, a position where is probably the most comfortable at.

We also have to note that the former Bayer Leverkusen star is still only 23 years old. The peak stage of his career is yet to arrive. The hope is that he becomes very good in the next year or so and shows his best game in a Chelsea shirt.
