Chelsea and Manchester United are keen on signing Victor Osimhen next season

Chelsea target Victor Osimhen’s priority is to play in the Premier League next season, despite his agents meeting with a Paris Saint-Germain representative.

According to Foot Mercato, (h/t Express) Chelsea and Manchester United are the favourites to sign him, and the striker is also keen to compete in the English Premier League.

The PSG executives met with the Nigerian’s agent a few days ago to explore the possibility of a trade, even if it is thought that the French club is not the player’s first choice.

With 21 goals in 25 Serie A games, the former Wolfsburg striker has been in the spotlight and is poised to lead Napoli to the title. Chelsea see Osimhen as a suitable striker who can address their offensive woes. After their previous two signings, Romelu Lukaku and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, failed to improve the situation,

Kai Havertz, who has played as a false 9, has also struggled in front of goal and Chelsea will need a striker for the upcoming season.

He clearly wants to play in the Premier League and is interested in moving there, and Manchester United and Chelsea are two clubs where he can thrive and make a name for himself.

We must get this deal done

PSG, on the other hand, are also a strong team but haven’t been competitive in the Champions League despite winning Ligue 1. Their recruiting procedure is usually to hunt for players whose reputation in the sport is excellent.

That, however, can be added motivation for a world-class player to go there and help them break their European duck. Moreover, we are all aware of PSG’s financial power which can appease both Napoli and Osimhen.

Manchester United need a striker, given that Wout Weghorst, who will depart the club in the summer, hasn’t contributed enough. While Marcus Rashford remains the team’s primary goal scorer most of the time, with 15 goals in Premier League this season.

For us, we just haven’t seemed to sign a proper striker who can be here for more than two seasons and score regularly. Timo Werner, Romelu Lukaku and Aubameyang have been disappointments.

More Chelsea News:

Osimhen (24) is young, has proven his worth in Naples, where he will win Serie A this season barring an unprecedented collapse, and has the ability to succeed in any league in the world.

This is a deal we have to get over the line. We can offload deadwood in the team to raise the cash. With the way we have spent under Todd Boehly, fans will be livid if we try to compromise in deals that the club actually needs to strengthen itself.
