Paris Saint-Germain are furious with Chelsea after last-minute Hakim Ziyech transfer collapse

Hakim Ziyech was set to complete a loan move to Paris Saint-Germain on deadline day from Chelsea, but issues with his documents stopped the Moroccan’s move fall through.

The Ligue 1 team was furious over Chelsea’s delay in signing the agreement. The Blues have been accused of filing incorrect paperwork, despite the club placing the fault on technology.

And it is believed that The Blues purposefully fumbled the transfer of a former Ajax Amsterdam player to keep the player in the club. Given that he is far from first-choice, why we would do that is a mystery.

Will Ziyech find his stride at Chelsea?

However, PSG aren’t buying it and believes Chelsea are responsible for the mixup. Luis Campos believes that all the parties were on the same page bar the Blues. He commented during a press conference following PSG’s 2-1 victory over Toulouse on Saturday at Parc des Princes (h/t Mirror.UK):

“In this case, it worked very well for Paris Saint-Germain; it also worked well with Ziyech.” Unfortunately, it didn’t work well for the last party.”

The Moroccan international showed at the World Cup in Qatar exactly what he was capable of. His form in the middle east was in stark contrast to the struggles at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea have also used him sparingly and are unlikely to see him bumped up the pecking order anytime soon.

Hakim Ziyech has struggled at Chelsea.

January signing Noni Madueke has already shown off the impact he can make and appears set to occupy the winger’s role at the club. With Mykhaylo Mudryk also in the fray, Ziyech has little reason to be optimistic.

A move to Paris could have given him the opportunity to reinvent his career and rekindle the old flame. Ziyech’s time at Chelsea is more or less done and the club would have been better off letting him move on in January.

More Chelsea News:

Chelsea can push for a summer transfer for the 29-year-old and a parting of ways is the best foot forward for all parties. Whether PSG will return for him when the window opens remains to be seen.
