Fabrizio Romano names Chelsea duo garnering a lot of interest this January

Speaking to GiveMeSport, popular Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has named Chelsea duo Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Hakim Ziyech as two players who are garnering a lot of interest from other clubs in the January transfer window.

After months and months of recruitment, it looks like the Blues have finally realised that they will also need to make sales to balance the squad. Two players who could be on their way out are Loftus-Cheek and Ziyech.

It is especially surprising for the latter considering for the first time in his Blues career he has been starting regularly in recent weeks. Despite this, Chelsea seem willing to sell the Moroccan.

Loftus-Cheek on the other hand has suddenly fallen out of favour after featuring very heavily in the first few months of the season. With interest prevalent in both players, it makes life easy for the Blues.

Many teams will be wanting to sign a player like Ziyech. At full flow, everyone saw how good the Moroccan can be in the World Cup for his nation in their unlikely semifinal run in Qatar.

Speaking about the situation, here is what Romano had to say about the duo and the fact that they seem to be having interest from elsewhere

“Hakim Ziyech and Loftus-Cheek, they’re receiving a lot of interest. For Chelsea, it’s crucial to understand who they want to sell and then how to proceed with new signings.”

Ziyech is very talented and can still play for a top club. However, the competition for places in the Blues forward line means that someone’s head needs to fall and the Moroccan is an easy target.

It could be good for Ziyech too, to move to a club that actually wants him and will make him the central player around whom the team thrives. This is where the former Ajax man really excels.
