Chelsea defender Thiago Silva drops starting lineup hint ahead of clash vs Tottenham Hotspur

According to Football. London, Chelsea defender Thiago Silva has dropped a team news hint on his Instagram handle ahead of the match against Tottenham Hotspur.

After signing for Chelsea, the Brazilian has developed into one of the best defenders of the Premier League. Even at the age of 37, he is giving top-notch performances on a regular basis. Silva has already made 25 appearances across all competitions for the Blues this season and is currently Antonio Rudiger’s first-choice partner in the backline.

However, the Brazilian defender tested positive for the Coronavirus in the first week of January and missed the first Carabao Cup clash against Tottenham. Even though he returned to the team after testing negative on 8th January, Thomas Tuchel only used him as a substitute for the second leg against Spurs.

Chelsea are set to face Tottenham today in what is a crunch Premier League clash and Tuchel would like to have his best defender at the back against their bitter rivals. Well, it looks like the German manager has already decided who will start at the centre-back.

Today, Silva dropped a story pointing out that he would be starting in the Premier League clash against the North London team. Having the veteran marshall the defence against the likes of Harry Kane is a welcome relief.

Chelsea would look to complete the hat-trick of wins against Tottenham today after defeating them in the two-leg of the Carabao Cup.

Silva played the complete 90-mins of Chelsea’s last three Premier League matches. The Brazilian defender continues to ooze class despite his age and his presence will be a massive boost for our team.

Andreas Christensen has still not returned to action since contacting Coronavirus and will be unavailable on the night. As things stand, Antonio Rudiger and Thiago Silva look set to rekindle their partnership at the heart of the defence.

Our team have only won one match in the last five appearances. So, winning today’s game would be a priority for gaining the momentum back and challenging Liverpool for the second spot of the Premier League. A loss will almost certainly drag us into the frantic battle for the fourth spot.
