According to transfer news from Mirror, Chelsea target Adama Traore would rather prefer a move to Barcelona. The Blues had lined up the Wolves man as an alternative to Achraf Hakimi but he has spoken about wanting to return to his boyhood side if he were to leave.
Chelsea are said to be looking at Hakimi since he can be an ideal fit for Thomas Tuchel’s 3-4-2-1 formation. However, the fact is that other clubs such as PSG are also after the youngster. That means Chelsea have already identified an alternative in Adama Traore.
A youth product of the famed La Masia academy, Traore has had quite the journey in his career so far. From not making the cut at Middlesbrough, he has become one of the most lethal wingers in the league with Wolves.
Now, for Chelsea, there’s another issue. The 25-year-old Spaniard would prefer a move to Barcelona if he were to move.
“Barcelona is my home. It’s the reality. I grew up since I was 10. From here, we will have to manage with my agents and see what role Barcelona wants.”
It’s hard to say if Traore can really fit in as a wing-back, although he did do a decent job when he was occasionally used in such a position. He is known to play his best football in the attacking areas and might not offer much in a defensive sense. However, all this won’t matter unless Chelsea can get their man to change his mind.
