According to the Latest reports, The Blues’ hierarchy are considering Atletico Madrid’s Diego Simeone as a potential replacement for Jose Mourinho. The Portuguese manager has been under a lot of pressure and is the favourite to be the next Premier League manager who could be sacked, after a really poor start to the season.
The defending league champions had stated last week that Mourinho was safe for now, but results must improve for him to stay at Stamford Bridge. The reports also claim that Jose is aware that the club are keeping a backup plan if he fails to turn things around quickly.
Reportedly, Simeone is the top target though he signed a contract extension with Atletico very recently and would cost the English giants to pay out his £15m buy-out clause to take him away from the Vicente Calderon.
