Who next in the Chelsea hot seat?

It’s safe to say that Rafa Benitez’s spell at Chelsea has not been his most successful one, nor the most well-received by the club’s faithful. The sacking of double-winning ex-Chelsea player Roberto Di Matteo was a very unpopular one, and hiring a manager who had a strong rivalry with the club during Jose Mourinho’s time atChelsea was even less popular.

Could Mario Gomez join Chelsea?

Just what are Chelsea going to do to get out of their current rut? Sign more players of course, with The Daily Express reporting that Mario Gomez is the latest individual being lined up on there seemingly limitless radar. To be fair, it is at least indicated that a move for the player would be as a replacement for Fernando Torres, nevertheless you can’t help feel that a little bit of continuity wouldn’t go a miss.

It’s time to simply limp over that finish line.

‘Time flies when you are having fun’. Apparently. Not that we would know, although we can tell you that the opposite is true.

Since losing to Corinthians on December 16th, it was clear this season was a write-off, and most fans would’ve given their right arm to fast-forward until pre-season there and then.

With the same record as Fulham and Swansea over our last 5 games, it’s clear now that the priority is qualifying for the Champions League next season, even more so after Gareth Bale FC scraped an unlikely victory away from home on Monday night.

Who is Christian Cuevas?

Good question. A quick search of Google and YouTube, and immediately your sanity is questioned. Christian Cueva, that is who you are looking for isn’t it. No, it certainly isn’t.

You can bet it is only a matter of time before Cuevas – known as ‘Cimby’ – outguns his fellow South American though, after Chelsea added him to their ranks, paying £1.7million for the 17 year old.

Why Chelsea will finish in the top four

The veil that masked Chelsea’s previous campaign has again enveloped the club, bringing forecasts about how The Blues will end the season completely off course. In simple terms, there is a huge vacuum of uncertainty about how Chelsea will finish the season – Top Four? Or in tatters.

In spite of this ambiguity around the club and the beloved fans, I (of course predicting) still believe that Chelsea will end up clinching a spot in the Champions League, despite our erratic form.

What next for John Terry?

It’s been a busy season in the tabloids for Chelseas ‘old guard’, and John Terry’s recent spell on the sidelines seems certain to fuel speculation on his future at the club too.

It was just two starts in three months prior to the Brentford game for the defensive stalwart, and with Cahill and Ivanovic doing a more than adequate job, it would seem harsh to disrupt the pairing and throw Terry straight back into the fold.

We are in a bit of a pickle….

We are in a bit of a pickle. Stuck with a manager who the fans dislike, and although the board expected results to counter-act these feelings, it has simply backfired dramatically on Abramovich and the Chelsea board.
Di Matteo’s 24 points from 12 games wasn’t poor, although certainly results in that spell were, but with Rafa Benitez collected just 25 points from his 14 league games, you begin to understand the frustrations that echo from the Bridge during most games nowadays.
