Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher in agreement over Chelsea star Cole Palmer when handing YPOTY title

Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher backs Chelsea star Cole Palmer to win Premier League Young Player of the Season award

Sky Sports pundit and former players Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher agree that Chelsea star Cole Palmer deserves to win the Premier League Young Player of the Season award. Sky Sports uploaded a post on Instagram of Carragher and Neville voting, where both mentioned Palmer’s names for Best Young Player.

Palmer moved to Chelsea from Manchester City on a deal worth £42.5 million, and since then, he has awed fans and pundits alike with his performance this season, and only City striker Erling Haaland has scored more goals than him this campaign.

The 22-year-old boasts 21 Premier League goals for the Blues, and his exploits also saw him get called for senior England sides for international friendlies. Palmer will now compete with the likes of other young Premier League stars for the Best Young Player award after the end of the campaign.

This season, Palmer has only played in the Premier League and has managed to tally 20 goals in the league. If Chelsea reach European competition, then he will have more goals to add to his tally, and in the foreseeable future, we can see him compete with many more elite players.

Palmer has established many records at Chelsea. From being the English top-flight player with the most assists in all competitions this season to having 40-G/A Club in Europe’s top five leagues among other elite players.

It is also stupendous to know that he is only 22 years old and will only become better. He’s going to become a household name in European football because he’s one of those players who can succeed in the game without much mentoring.
