Mauricio Pochettino gives update on his relationship status with Chelsea owners after latest meeting

Mauricio Pochettino speaks on his relationship with Chelsea owners

Chelsea came away with a nervy win against Newcastle United after mistakes led to conceding goals. The three points come as a massive relief as pressure will be eased on Mauricio Pochettino’s shoulders considering the difficult season Chelsea are enduring this season as they lay in the bottom half of the table.

The Argentine manager insists that his relationship with the Chelsea owners remains strong despite the recent rumors about his potential sack in the offseason.

It was a chaotic Monday night at the Bridge as Nicolas Jackson, Cole Palmer, and Mykhailo Mudryk were on target for the Blues in a game that showcased the strengths and the mistakes of a young Chelsea side as they have struggled to gain some momentum and consistency this season.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side had multiple chances to clear their lines before Alexander Isak’s fine strike landed in the net just before the ref blew for half-time. While Jacob Murphy’s nervy finish made it a one-goal game in the stoppage time.

The win will play a massive part in the probability for Chelsea to qualify for Europe through the Premier League as they are only eight points adrift of the top six with a game in hand over most teams.

The win against Newcastle also comes as a massive relief for Mauricio Pochettino as the Argentine gaffer was questioned about his managerial stature as angry traveling fans booed and chanted for the former Tottenham man to leave West London during a 2-2 draw against Brentford.

Following the game, the 52-year-old spoke about how he had good talks with Todd Boehly and said that his relationship with the Chelsea owners remains solid irrespective of the struggles on the pitch.

“Yes, he came with his son, and I think [fellow co-owner] Behdad [Eghbali],” the Argentine said when quizzed about Boehly following yesterday’s game.

“All of the owners were there. Yes, it was a nice chat, only a few minutes because I needed to come for the interview and the press conference. Yes, it was good, the relationship is good.”
