Pochettino reveals why Chelsea allowed Armando Broja to join Fulham

Chelsea forward Armando Broja has joined Fulham on loan for rest of the season and Pochettino explains why

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino gives his verdict on Armando Broja going to Fulham on loan and claims it will allow him more game time there and help him develop into an elite striker.

The Albanian forward joined the Cottagers on loan for the entire season, and Marco Silva’s side will pay the Blues a loan fee of £4 million ($5.1 million). During the talks, there were some clauses in Broja’s contract.

If the striker starts 10 matches, the loan fee will drop to zero, and if he fails to feature in any of the 10 games, Fulham will have to pay the entire loan fee. Fulham have been starved of a natural striker after their hitman Alexander Mitrovic left the club and joined the Saudi Pro League outfit.

The arrival of Broja will inject some threat into the box, and the striker certainly poses a danger of scoring goals. Pochettino will be hoping the 22-year-old returns to the Blues with sufficient experience, (h/t Football.London). Here is what he further said on his loan move to Fulham:

“I think it’s a very good thing for him to have the opportunity to play, maybe more. I think it’s a good move for him. I hope he can take more.”

This is a tremendous opportunity for the young player to establish himself because, following his injury recovery, Broja has been unconfident and lethargic, traits that Fulham manager Silva could hopefully boost.

And Broja might not be able to reach his full potential at Chelsea without those games. Because Chelsea won’t allow him the time to develop, his worth will completely plummet. At the club, Hudson-Odoi and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are two examples of this.

Hopefully, Broja can succeed at Fulham. They have a fluid counterattack and a barrage of early balls into the area. Since he has returned from a long-term injury, he will need to perform at the highest level and hopefully prevent any new injuries.
