Conor Gallagher hopes he will score more goals for Chelsea this season after 3-1 win over Aston Villa
With the intention of moving on from their past two humiliating losses to Liverpool and Wolves, Chelsea arrived at Villa Park with some optimism. Conor Gallagher gave the visitors the lead after just 11 minutes of play.
Chelsea played as a cohesive group, and Nicolas Jackson doubled the Bluesโ lead in 21 minutes. Enzo Fernandez’s delightful freekick wrapped up the game, but Moussa Diaby scored a consolation goal in the 91st minute.
However, a goal for Gallagher would mean a lot to him as he netted his first goal of the season. The England international has been linked with a move away from Chelsea in January but has managed to remain with the club.
When asked about how he was feeling after scoring his first goal to start a commendable win over the Lions, (h/t BBC) the 23-year-old told the media:
“It is to be fair, finally. Obviously, I like to score goals, and I’d like to score more. This season I haven’t done so, so I’d like to get a few more.โ
Gallagher always steps up in big games.
Gallagher is made for big games like this, and we have seen it many times this season. He brings so much composure in the middle of the pitch, which is impressive, and his style of intense pressing to win the ball back gives us energy in the game. Conor Gallagher is excellent at everything he does when not in possession of the ball. He presses with unimaginable vigour, speed, and energy and frequently enters the area late to pose a goal or dynamic danger.
It was his first goal of the season, and it was certainly delightful to watch because the way he put the ball past Emiliano Martinez on his first chance instead of taking any touches.

One thing he needs to improve is his technical play because sometimes his decisions on the pitch are disappointing, and once he refines that, we will have a complete midfielder who will add immense balance and sheer quality in the middle of the park.
