Chelsea defender on the radars of 3 Serie A giants including AS Roma

AC Milan, Juventus and AS Roma plotting a move for Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah

According to EPSN, Chelsea centre-back Trevoh Chalobah could make a deadline-day move to a Serie A club after the defender is on the shortlist of three Italian clubs: AC Milan, Juventus and AS Roma.

The Blues academy player spent the first half of the season on the sidelines after picking an injury before the start of the new season and has recently returned to training. It’s doubtful that Chalobah is in the plans of Mauricio Pochettino, as he has fallen way down the pecking order, and a move away will also be viable for the defender.

Remaining at Chelsea won’t be logical; we don’t have enough depth at the back, but we are already stacked with the likes of Levi Colwill, Axel Disasi, Benoit Badiashile, Wesley Fofana and Thiago Silva.

When Fofana picked up a season-ending injury, the Blues should have given Chalobah a chance instead of signing Disasi, and this makes it clear that the Blues aren’t counting on the academy player.

They are also mainly offloading Cobham graduates to earn more profit, and other academy stars such as Conor Gallagher and Armando Broja have already been listed on the selling shortlist.

The 24-year-old is still in his early stages of the age, and remaining at Chelsea will also hinder his potential. Chelsea have done transfer business with many Serie A clubs, and many Blues former players are currently thriving there.

Olivier Giroud, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Fikayo Tomori and Romelu Lukaku are enjoying productive spells for their respective teams, while Christian Pulisic recently won Serie A Player of the Month for AC Milan.

Chalobah is young and has the ability to influence things at the back. The supporters are growing impatient with the club’s sluggish development as we continue to move forward. We are still a young team and far from constructed, as evidenced by our most recent 4-1 loss to Liverpool.
