Former Chelsea boss laments the lack of appreciation at new gig, unlike at Stamford Bridge

Thomas Tuchel believes he felt more appreciated at Chelsea than at Bayern munich

Former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel opens up about his time at the club and says he felt more appreciated at the Blues than currently at Bayern Munich.

Tuchel’s first season as Chelsea manager was unprecedented, as he led them to the Champions League, Club World Cup, and Super Cup in a short period of time and became a popular figure at the club. He was one of the few managers who understood what it meant to manage the Blues and his loss has since been felt at Stamford Bridge.

However, a change in ownership meant the Tuchel time appeared to be coming to an end after Todd Boehly decided to sack him, which perplexed many fans and others.

It was a controversial decision from the owners, and it instantly backfired as the club embarked on a dismal period as the team saw the change of three managers. However, the appointment of Mauricio Pochettino this season has seen some positive changes.

But recalling his time at the club, the former Borussia Dortmund manager was asked about where he felt more appreciated, and he told ESPN (h/t Metro):

‘‘It is very hard to escape. There is a picture, and this picture is the picture for years and years. I felt more appreciation in England, yes.’’

Appointing Tuchel was one of the decisions the club made when we were enduring a poor spell, and the Germans changed the state of the club, brought togetherness, and helped struggling players find their feet as we saw a change in mentality and won the Champions League.

And because it was one of the club’s worst choices, his dismissal impacted the most. Eventually, everything went south and we spent the 2022-23 season sinking further and deeper into mediocrity. We are still far from the top, but are making progress and it will take a while for this young team to reach its potential.
