Mauricio Pochettino confirms Chelsea regular will sit out vs Wolves with injury

Enzo Fernandez will miss Chelsea’s clash against Wolves following a ‘discomfort’

Chelsea star Enzo Fernandez will miss the trip to Molineux as per The Standard. He was substituted in the 32nd minute of the scintillating Carabao Cup quarter-final clash against Newcastle. The reason cited as ‘illness’ is now confirmed to be hernia.

The Argentine was pictured shedding years, but Mauricio Pochettino confirms the youngster will be missing just one game. He says,

“Enzo is going to be out of the game against Wolverhampton,” Pochettino told reporters on Friday. “We are going to see if he can be involved again as soon as possible.”

Thankfully, Enzo Fernandez’s unavailability won’t be long-term. It would have been a massive blow for Chelsea supporters who have learned about their captain’s four-month absence.

Mauricio Pochettino’s journey has been challenging at Chelsea. The Argentine is gunning for his first-ever trophy in England with all resources deployed on the upcoming EFL clashes.

Enzo’s absence is not much of a ‘bad news’ for Mauricio Pochettino

Chelsea kept losing their stars to injuries constantly. Reece James has been a consistent name on the injury list. Now Enzo Fernandez finds his name on the list, even though it is not an injury per se. This situation should have sent panic signals inside the dressing room, however, that is not the case.

Pochettino has welcomed back midfield duo Romeo Lavia and Lesley Ugochuwku and attacking pair Christopher Nkunku and Noni Madueke will also be available for the trip to Wolves’ home. The Chelsea squad is slowly filling up to the brim, leaving Pochettino with concerns about the right combination.

Wolverhampton bowed out to an in-form West Ham last week as they were pushed below to 13th spot in the league table. On the other hand, there is Chelsea at the 10th spot and looking for consecutive Premier League wins.
