“When I was growing up, I loved Cristiano Ronaldo”- Chelsea star explains reason why he copies Real Madrid legend’s celebration

Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson says he will continue to imitate Cristiano Ronaldo’s siuu celebration

Nicolas Jackson seems to have found his scoring touch after the Senegalese registered four goals in Chelsea’s two games against Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City.

Versus Spurs, the former Villarreal scored a hattrick and completed Cristiano Ronaldo’s signature celebration, “siu.” The 22-year-old has idolised Ronaldo and revealed he will continue to copy his celebration.

Jackon joined Chelsea last summer for £32 million, but his profligacy in front of the goal saw Chelsea under scrutiny if they once again made another poor signing for their No. 9 position.

But Jackson has looked clinical in front of the goal, and the Blues will hope that he continues with his fine performance throughout the season. Given that his idol is Ronaldo, hopefully, he has learned two or three things that could be a threat in the opposition box.

He has also insisted that he will continue to hit Siu celebration when he scores a hattrick as he shared his love and admiration for the Portuguese forward, (h/t Metro), and told the Telegraph:

‘’When I was growing up, I loved Cristiano Ronaldo. I had his name on a shirt that I always wore. I always did his celebration, even when I was at Villarreal and I scored two goals. So when I got a hat-trick, I had to do it. Now I’ll only do it for hat-tricks, not every goal.”

As one of the best football players of this generation, Ronaldo is clearly idolised by many young players, and it is undoubtedly difficult to live up to the benchmarks he set while playing. However, young athletes aspire to follow in his footsteps, and it’s undoubtedly difficult to do so. Along with his physical attributes, Ronaldo is renowned for his celebrations.

Jackson still has a long way to go, but it’s nice that he looks up to a player like him. However, you will need to perform on the pitch like him if you wish to emulate him. He may imitate all the celebrations he wants, but ideally, he should also inflict damage on the opponent, much like Ronaldo did in his heyday.
