Gabriel Moscardo reveals he wants to focus on Corinthians amid Chelsea’s interest

17-year-old sensation Gabriel Moscardo has been pursued by many top European clubs, including Chelsea. The highly-rated defensive midfielder is currently playing for Brazilian club Corinthians.

It’s clear how brilliant you are when major clubs start showing interest in you at such a young age. Such gifted young players are frequently discovered by Chelsea, and Moscardo is unquestionably a top prodigy.

His performance has impressed many big clubs so much that they are ready to fight for his services. Moscardo made his debut this year and is now a regular starter for the Brazilian club.

The teenager’s action in those games has convinced big European giants to sign him, with Arsenal, Barcelona, and Atletico Madrid also keen on recruiting him.

Moscardo knows many clubs are keeping an eye on him, but the midfielder wants to keep cards close to his chest and presently wants to focus on the Brazilian club. (h/t Express) Talking to Globo Esporte, he said:

“Of course there’s interest from various clubs; I’ve also heard about it; there was strong interest from Chelsea a few months ago, but if you stop to think about where I’m going now, at this moment, it’s not good. I want to help Corinthians now to get them out of this situation.”

Gabriel Moscardo has plenty of options for next summer move.

Moscardo is a brilliant player, but right now we don’t require him because we have plenty of defensive midfielders in Romeo Lavia, Moises Caicedo, Lesley Ugochukwu, and Andrey Santos. Given that we have plenty of options in that regard, it doesn’t seem logical to sign him. Even if the club were to sign him, they would likely send him out on loan to other teams to give him more time to mature, as playing in the Premier League would be too demanding for someone his age.
