Fabrizio Romano confirms that European giants have made a move for teenage Chelsea target

Fabrizio Romano says Chelsea will face competition from Paris Saint-Germain for Gabriel Moscardo

Fabrizio Romano has revealed Paris Saint-Germain are also among the clubs keen on signing Chelsea target Gabriel Moscardo.

The French club is set to open talks with the Brazilian midfielder and is seriously interested in signing him. PSG sporting director Luis Campos has been scouting the midfielder.

Romano also revealed Chelsea are yet to make any bid for the 18-year-old, and it seems like they are not going to make a proposal for him. The Blues earlier sent a bid of around $22 million, but Corinthians turned down the bid as they wanted €30 million ($32.9 million).

However, a change in the presidency of the Brazilian club could alter the price. The midfielder was also courted by Barcelona, but there were no talks between the two clubs. Other clubs, such as Arsenal, Manchester United, and Atlético Madrid, have also inquired but have yet to hold any talks.

The midfielder was promoted to the first team this season and has already made 23 appearances for Corinthians so far without registering any goals or assists.

Chelsea will now face tough competition from PSG, who always lure the players with big salaries. That said, we are no slouches when it comes to spending money either.

If the same thing happens once again, then we should avoid getting in their path because handing an 18-year-old a big salary isn’t healthy and puts them under massive pressure to perform in every game. We also have enough midfielders for years to come, so it’s not necessary to sign him just because he is shining at such a young age.

Signing every young talent isn’t necessary because we have to look at our squad, and filling the roster with them will just make the club less competitive and take plenty of seasons to become a top side.
