According to Calciomercato.it, Chelsea have inquired about Fluminense’s highly-regarded youngster Matheus Reis, who is making waves at the Brazilian club at just 16. The teenager’s performance has grabbed the attention of many European clubs, with the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester City inquiring about the striker.

Despite being born in Mexico, the striker moved to Brazil, where he began his football career, and his quick ascendance saw him get a senior team call-up from Fluminense. Though he has yet to make his debut for them,

However, his rapid development shows how much he has matured, and many foreign clubs are already taking notice of him. If he keeps up his explosive improvement, a transfer to a major club may be in the works.

Chelsea have always been the club that is keen on acquiring such young talents since the arrival of Todd Boehly. They signed statements with such Brazilian youngsters when they acquired Andrey Santos, Angelo Gabriel, and David Washington.

Fluminense are aware of the interests of other clubs, and the teenager has a €50 million release clause, which shouldn’t be a hindrance for such Premier League giants.

Now that Matheus is another exceptional young player about whom the Blues have inquired, it’s clear they may make a move if he keeps up his impressive play.
