“After long time”- Chelsea star Wesley Fofana shares encouraging injury update on social media

Wesely Fofana provides latest injury update as Chelsea nears full fitness

As per Football. London, Chelsea centre-back Wesley Fofana has updated on his injury recovery in a recent Instagram post after the defender was seen working out since tearing his cruciate ligament. The former Leicester City player posted that he has now started running for the first time.

Fofana, who didn’t travel to pre-season with Chelsea, sustained an injury and had to undergo surgery. Fofana continues his recuperating phase, as it will take more months for the player to be deemed fully fit.

Fofana hasn’t been a consistent starter after the centre-back majority of the time has been ravaged by injuries, as last season too, the Frenchman was out with an injury most of the campaign.

Given the pace of recovery from his recent injury, Mauricio Pochettino expects the defender to return before the end of the season. and his recent Instagram story has given hope to Chelsea, where he posted a photo of him wearing his shoes with the caption  ‘After [a] long time’ “Alhamdulillah” and a running emoji.

Thanks to Chelsea’s depth in defence, they haven’t had any problems since the Frenchman picked up an injury. The club was quick to find his replacement in Axel Disasi.

Chelsea should be assessing Fofana’s progress and will give him the green light to play the matches once he is fully fit. Currently, he could remain out for plenty of months, and it’s been very unfortunate for the defender given that he is just 22 and hasn’t been consistent since joining us.

Fofana could be Thiago Silva’s replacement, given that he boasts plenty of qualities and can succeed the Brazilian defender, but for that, he needs to remain fit. If he continues to pick up injuries, Chelsea will have to make tough decisions regarding his future. Hopefully that will never be the case, and let’s see how long it takes him to return to action.
