“We will give our maximum'”- Rival boss raring to face Chelsea in the Premier League

Marco Silva believes the Premier League clash between Fulham and Chelsea will be special

Fulham boss Marco Silva has admitted that facing Chelsea will be special as both London clubs will prepare to take on each other in a derby game on Monday night in the Premier League.

The Blues will go into this game on the back of a 1-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion in the Carabao Cup following an otherwise dismal run of games. While the Cottagers have had their moments, their lack of consistency remains an issue.

Only one of the West Londoners’ six Premier League games has ended in victory this season, and anything less than a win might increase the danger to manager Mauricio Pochettino’s future at the club. While it would be far-fetched to say that the Argentine will be on thin ice, it certainly does little to aid his cause.

The same could be said for Fulham, who have two wins in six Premier League outings. Both sides will be desperate for a win, and we can expect a toe-to-toe game. With more than London pride for grabs, it should prove to be an exciting team.

Fulham head coach Silva has warned the Blues that his side will give maximum when they take on their London rivals, (h/t Sky Sports) and further told the media:

“Chelsea derby is special for Fulham fans. We will give our maximum’’

Undoubtedly, this will be a big game and a crucial encounter for us because we need to keep up our winning streak after Brighton’s win. London derbies are always special because if you win them to get the status of most dominant club in London. Anything less than a victory would be upsetting for us since we feel like we are beginning to develop as a team under the Argentine boss, who is bound to get the best performance out of us.

We can benefit from Fulham’s apparent inability to win league matches. We have played Fulham 103 times in all competitions, winning 54, drawing 30, and losing 19. So, we’re hoping to extend our winning streak and exceed our current 50-game winning streak against them. While the Cottagers are not our biggest rivals from the city, it is still a London derby.
