“I look at the best”- Chelsea star admits he watches two superstars including Kylian Mbappe to improve his game

Chelsea star Noni Madueke reveals he analysed videos of Mohamed Salah and Kylian Mbappe to improve his game

Chelsea star Noni Madueke has claimed he watches videos of Mohamed Salah and Kylian Mbappe to work on his finishing.

Madueke has barely played this season under Mauricio Pochettino, despite a promising campaign last season. But his recent performance in the U21s England 9-1 win over Serbia has excited Chelsea fans.

The former PSV Eindhoven player wants to upgrade his game and has started watching Salah and Mbappe’s games. Both Salah and Madueke operate on the right flank, and the Egyptian player’s style of play could be a big influence on the 21-year-old as well.

Ex-Chelsea player Salah had a chance to make his name at Stamford Bridge, but since joining Liverpool, he has earned elite player status at Anfield. The former AS Roma forward has 192 goals in 315 games to his name for Liverpool, something that Madueke will hope to replicate at Chelsea.

The 21-year-old explained to the, (h/t Mirror), Evening Standard in his interview how he has been improving on his game by watching Salah and Mbappe highlights;

“I look at the best. James Ryder, our analyst, clipped up (Kylian) Mbappe and Salah, so I watch them a lot. The way they always follow their pass into the box, or when a teammate is in the box, they’re always there to anticipate.”

Given how prominent players both Salah and Mbappe have become, learning from the greatest always makes you the best. Although Salah took some time to build up his reputation, the Frenchman had already achieved top status when he was just 19 when he won the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Mbappe, however, has recently developed into a different player; while being young, he occasionally takes control of the game due to his exceptional finishing and bursts of speed that leave defenders in their wake.

Salah and Madueke play on the same wing, so the 21-year-old can observe how the Egyptian forward escapes opponents and finds teammates with his deft passes. Madueke has a lot to learn from Salah. He will be able to pick up a lot from Salah’s style of play. Let’s hope he starts featuring more for Chelsea in the near future.
