“I am not convinced yet”- Pundit delivers honest verdict on 22-year-old Chelsea star

Frank Leboeuf feels Chelsea striker Armando Broja hasn’t been convincing since returning from injury

Former Chelsea centre-back, Frank Leboeuf, isn’t entirely convinced by the recent performances of Armando Broja, especially considering the striker’s return from a long-term injury.

Broja, the Albanian centre-forward, was handed starts against Fulham and Burnley. He managed to find the net in the Blues’ 2-0 victory over Fulham. However, the 22-year-old failed to replicate this performance against Burnley and was subbed off at halftime.

Meanwhile, Jackson made quite an impact and netted his second goal for the Blues during their dominant 4-1 win over Vincent Kompany’s side. The Blues are now riding high on consecutive wins.

It’s crucial to exercise caution with Broja, given his recent recovery from a major injury. Jackson’s competitiveness on the field is bound to motivate Broja to fight for his position in the starting lineup.

This healthy competition can only benefit the team, but at the moment, Jackson seems to be the ideal choice to lead the attack, as he appears more menacing in the opposition’s box and more sharper and decisive.

Frank Leboeuf, the former Chelsea and France international, shares the same sentiment and believes that Broja will need time to rediscover his form. Speaking on ESPN’s Youtube Channel, he stated,

“From Armando Broja, I’m not convinced yet, as he came off injury, so he will take time.”

It’s unrealistic to expect Armando Broja to start scoring goals immediately after recovering from such a serious injury. Lebouef’s assessment is spot on. Broja isn’t physically prepared for a full game, and pushing him too hard might risk reinjury.

Being a young player, it’s essential for him to gain more experience, which he can do by representing the national team during the upcoming international break. This will gradually help him regain his form and confidence, especially when facing formidable opponents.

Currently, Jackson holds the reins in the starting lineup, showing promise and starting to find the back of the net after a brief struggle. Hopefully, Broja will follow suit and embark on a similar path. The key here is patience and nurturing his recovery back to full strength. Ultimately, it all bodes well for the Blues.
