“Really good man manager”- Chelsea starlet gives verdict on working under Mauricio Pochettino

Chelsea star Noni Madueke praises new coach Mauricio Pochettino

Chukwunonso Tristan “Noni” Madueke is proud of working with the club’s new boss Mauricio Pochettino, who holds a reputation for getting the best out of promising talents.

According to Chelsea’s official website, the club’s new signing Madueke is very much enjoying working with Pochettino.

“He’s tough with me, but I probably need that. He’s transparent as well which is really important, to know where you stand and what he expects from you. He knows when to be really tough with me and when to put an arm around me. I can’t fault him.”

Madueke is one of the many young players that have come to our club in 2023. He had nothing but kind words for our new manager.

‘He’s a really good man manager. He’s created a culture where we are brothers off the pitch. It helps we have a young squad so we are with each other a lot anyway. We are lucky to have him.’

2023 marks a period of substantial change for the club. The Blues are now primarily focusing on securing and nurturing young talent. And Madueke seems grateful for the faith our club has shown in him and he is excited about the team’s potential.

Madueke started his career at Crystal Palace at the age of nine. 3 years later, he joined Tottenham Hotspur’s youth team. In June 2018 he joined the Dutch club PSV where he made his senior debut a year later before joining Chelsea in a £29m deal in January this year.

Madueke is certainly a good addition to our club. He plays as a winger and attacking midfielder, which offers the Argentine manager options in the frontline.

His personal football coach Saul Isaksson-Hurst thinks Madueke is the perfect player for Pochettino. He said, via the Athletic (Subscription Required): “It is a match made in football heaven.”

Currently, the youngster has players such as Mykhaylo Mudryk, Raheem Sterling and Cole Palmer to compete with. But let us keep in mind that he is a signing for the long term, which is why Pochettino (and the Blues faithful) must exercise patience with the 21-year-old Englishman. For now, it is good to know that he is getting along well with our new boss.
