Mykhaylo Mudryk sends message to Chelsea fans after Brighton win

Chelsea star Mykhaylo Mudryk sent a heartfelt message to the club’s fans after win in Brighton clash

Chelsea winger Mykhaylo Mudryk paid tribute to Blues supporters on social media after receiving a standing ovation during Tuesday’s 1-0 Carabao Cup victory over Brighton. Mudryk was replaced late in the match after playing a starring role in the third-round win.

The Ukrainian posted a photo on Instagram following the game thanking Chelsea fans, writing:

“That win was for y’all. Y’all deserved this.”

After initially struggling since his £88.5m January move from Shakhtar Donetsk, Mykhaylo Mudryk seems to be finding his feet under manager Mauricio Pochettino. His strong performance against Brighton earned appreciative applause from the Stamford Bridge crowd when he was substituted with Raheem Sterling with 20 minutes left on the clock.

Building Mudryk’s fragile confidence has been a focus for Pochettino with many of Chelsea’s players visibly low on belief. The 22-year-old Ukrainian had a hard time adjusting to the fast-paced football in England but it seems he is finally managing to catch up.

Mudryk played a pivotal role in Chelsea’s attacking play versus Brighton, creating space and chances for others. The standing ovation seemed to resonate deeply with the 22-year-old.

Mudryk and co will be gaining valuable confidence following Brighton win

Chelsea finally managed to cop a win after a three-match win drought. Youngster Nicolas Jackson scored the only goal in that match. This will certainly be a huge confidence booster for the young Chelsea team.

Chelsea have been severely underperforming this season having scored just 1 goal in their last 4 matches. The young Chelsea team that new co-owner Todd Boehly invested £1 billion in, has struggled to find its feet, particularly in the Premier League.

The Blues have only managed to win once in their 6 league games. Many have attributed this to the lack of cohesion and understanding among the young players among other factors. However, this win should surely put them in the right direction.

If Mudryk can use this match’s confidence boost as a platform going forward, his raw ability could make him a vital player in Chelsea’s ongoing rebuild.
