Chelsea expect two key first-team players to be fit for Aston Villa game

Chelsea are hoping Noni Madueke and Moises Caicedo will return for Aston Villa match

As per Daily Mail, Chelsea hopes that Moises Caicedo and Noni Madueke will be fit for the next game against Aston Villa on September 24. Armando Broja could also return after the striker played under-21s in the last week.

Madueke and Caicedo weren’t in the matchday squad in a stalemate against Bournemouth on Sunday, as Caicedo had knee issues while Madueke had a muscle problem.

However, their withdrawal was necessary, and the injuries aren’t serious enough to see them miss another game next week. This will be a great boost for Mauricio Pochettino, who deployed Lesley Ugochukwu.

Another draw exposed their dismal goalscoring complications, but the Argentine boss will have another no. 9 in Broja for the upcoming match. Broja, though, hasn’t appeared in a competitive match for Chelsea since his serious injury in December against Aston Villa in a friendly game.

Chelsea will have tough fixtures ahead now and will be hopeful that many first-team players return from injury. Pochettino will be hoping the Blues start to get in rhythm.

Caicedo’s inclusion will be great for the West Londoners, while Madueke hasn’t appeared in many games this season, and Pochettino has utilised new signing Cole Palmer.

Our list of injuries is so extensive that we could create another squad from it. Pochettino obviously has a top team which can compete with teams like Manchester City and Arsenal when all the players are healthy and available. We had an entirely fit squad during preseason, and it functioned perfectly.

However, injuries to a few of them have upset the team’s balance, which could be why we are struggling to win games.

Caicedo will add steel to our midfield, which currently consists of Enzo Fernandez and Conor Gallagher, with Romeo Lavia yet to play a single minute. The Villans won’t make this game easy for us.

They have an incredibly talented squad on paper and immense depth on the bench. We can use every bit of help with injuries on our end to get a win at Stamford Bridge.
