27-year-old Chelsea target wants to leave current PL team in January

Ivan Toney is considering leaving Brentford in January amid Chelsea interest

According to the Mirror, Ivan Toney is willing to leave Brentford in January as Chelsea and other Premier League clubs line up a move for the England international.

Toney is currently serving an eight-month ban after being found guilty of betting and will return to action in January, although he has resumed training and discussed his future with Thomas Frank.

The centre-forward has already discussed his desire to leave the Bees, and the club is open to selling if his suitors meet the £60 million valuation. Arsenal and Tottenham are also considering a move for the talented striker and would rival Chelsea for his signature.

However, Brentford are more open to selling him next summer to avoid mid-season distractions. The 27-year-old is likely to put pressure on the club to make a January move possible. Let’s not forget that he loves the Bees though.

Chelsea, who have for the majority of the time targetted young players, are once again regretting not signing a proven striker and are hoping to land Ivan Toney, who might be an important piece in the jigsaw.

The former Newcastle United star enjoyed a productive campaign last term and finished third in scoring behind Harry Kane and Erling Haaland. At Chelsea, he could compete with the likes of Haaland for the Golden Boot.

Toney’s signing by Chelsea makes sense given that he is proven and has the attributes necessary to lead the attacking line. He will get a chance to play alongside top-notch midfielders at Chelsea, which will help him score more goals and possibly solve the club’s goal-scoring difficulties, which have persisted despite new additions.

Nicolas Jackson, who has had difficulty scoring goals, may also feel less pressure as a result of his arrival because Jackson might serve as his backup and will get reasonable game time. However, it will be difficult to sign Toney because Tottenham and Arsenal are also interested. Let’s hope that our project can persuade the striker to join us.
