Premier League club expected to sign Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi

Nottingham Forest ‘expected’ to sign Chelsea forward Callum Hudson-Odoi

Chelsea star Callum Hudson-Odoi is expected to join Premier League rivals Nottingham Forest in the ongoing transfer window, according to football.london.

The Tricky Trees are interested in acquiring the services of the English national. To that end, they have had an £8 million offer for the attacker accepted from the Blues.

Now, the City Ground side will hold talks with the 22-year-old to convince him to make the switch this summer. It remains to be seen whether the two parties will be able to come to a consensus on personal terms.

Hudson-Odoi made his way through the youth ranks at Chelsea. The youngster was considered one of the best prospects to come out of our academy and made a place for himself on the senior squad in the 2018/19 term.

Over the years, the English national has been given a lot of opportunities to prove himself. Unfortunately, the forward has been unable to take his chances and make a mark.

Hudson-Odoi spent the previous campaign on loan at Bayer Leverkusen. However, the winger was unable to convince Xabi Alonso of his talent and failed to get regular minutes at the Bundesliga outfit, starting in just seven league matches.

Forest were able to survive the drop last season. However, the Tricky Trees are expected to once again be in a relegation scrap, having lost two of their opening league games.

At Chelsea, the attack can rely on the likes of Raheem Sterling, Christopher Nkunku, Nicolas Jackson, Noni Madueke and Mykhaylo Mudryk. Therefore, it looks difficult for Hudson-Odoi to get opportunities in the starting lineup.

Thus, a move to a lower-ranked team like Forest seems like a wise option for the English national. Will the youngster be able to revive his career at the West Bridgford-based club? Only time will tell.
