Seagulls ace keen to make summer switch amidst Chelsea interest

Chelsea target Moises Caicedo informs Brighton & Hove Albion he wants a summer exit

Ecuadorian midfield superstar Moises Caicedo is doing everything to join Chelsea, as he recently expressed his desire to leave Brighton & Hove Albion to his teammates.

According to Sussex World, (h/t Daily Mail) the midfielder confirmed to members at Brighton’s awards ceremony on Tuesday evening that he wishes to leave the club. The 21-year-old told two guests that he hopes to complete a permanent transfer to Mauricio Pochettino’s side. sooner rather than later

This could boost Chelsea’s prospect of completing the signing of a midfielder who is willing to make his move possible to West London despite Brighton wanting £100 million for him. The 21-year-old would add much dynamism to the Blues midfield roster.

Following Chelsea’s £80 million bid being turned down by the Seagulls, the midfielder has himself asked the club to help facilitate a Stamford Bridge switch. Surely the Seagulls will pay heed to the youngster’s wishes.

However, the South Coast demanding an exorbitant fee for the Ecuadorian midfielder is a no-brainer given his breakthrough season last term, where he helped the club reach the Europa League for the first time. It is now time for him to take the next step in his career.

The midfielder was also pursued by Arsenal in the winter transfer window, but Brighton rejected their £70m bid. Caicedo also forced his way out following the Seagulls’ refusal to sell him, which saw him sign a four-year deal.

Imagine how prepared he will be to play for us and give everything he’s got for the Blues. It is obvious that he wants to leave the club and join us. But Brighton have continued to be a challenge for us. They appear adamant about demanding the whole £100 million from us, and the start of the new season is gradually approaching.

It doesn’t make sense to keep him against his will for the upcoming season, and the Blues appear to have no choice but to either match Brighton’s asking price or back out of the contract. However, we shouldn’t underestimate the significance of Caicedo’s acquisition because he will undoubtedly raise the calibre of our midfield.
