Chelsea make breakthrough in negotiations with Brighton for Moises Caicedo

Chelsea are advancing in talks with Brighton & Hove Albion for Moises Caicedo

Chelsea have found a breakthrough in their pursuit of Moises Caicedo with Brighton & Hove Albion as they remain consistent in their quest to sign their top target.

According to the Independent, (h/t Metro) the Blues have made progress in talks with Brighton, as they are now demanding a £90 million fee upfront for the 21-year-old.

The report further claims there has been a positive development in talks, and Brighton expects the West Londoners to next bid to be in excess of £90m to persuade the East Coast side to let the midfielder depart. Whether it will be enough to get the deal over the line remains to be seen.

The Blues will be hoping to complete their deal before their opening 2023–24 Premier League game against Liverpool on Sunday at Stamford Bridge. The quicker we bring in Caicedo, the easier it will be to integrate him into the squad.

The Seagulls have remained reluctant to change their valuation of the Ecuadorian midfielder but seem to have now lowered his asking price, as Blues remains in discussion to land the midfielder. This saga has dragged on for a while and the time is now for us to end it.

Caicedo is keen to move to west London and is doing what he can to make it happen. He missed Brighton’s training on Monday to put pressure on the club and it remains to be seen if the Seagulls get the message.

Our perseverance has apparently paid off. It appears that we have made progress in trying to get Caicedo, who is eager to join, as we continue to hold discussions with the Seagulls. We can only anticipate that the transaction is finalised before the big game against Liverpool so that Mauricio Pochettino can plan ahead with a competent star added to the ranks.

In addition to improving and balancing our midfield. He will be able to partner Enzo Fernandez, who will be given the opportunity to move upfield. Caicedo, who is 21 years old, has greater versatility and is destined to develop into one of Europe’s top midfielders. Hopefully, it will be in Blue.
