£35m-rated PL star close to reaching personal agreement with Chelsea

Ben Jacobs claims Michael Olise is closing to reaching personal terms with Chelsea

Transfer specialist Ben Jacobs has confirmed that Michael Olise is closing in on reaching personal terms with Chelsea as they look to make more additions to their attacking line.

Olise is a former Chelsea academy product who enjoyed an excellent season at Crystal Palace, registering 11 assists in the Premier League.

The Blues currently have only Noni Madueke on the right wing, who has not featured in pre-season games due to injury; this has seen Mauricio Pochettino play Ian Maatsen and Raheem Sterling in that position.

It is also understood that the youngster will be available for £35 million ($44 million) despite Palace not wanting to sell him. Olise is seduced by the idea of joining Chelsea’s project.

Ben Jacobs has given some positive news regarding Chelsea’s pursuit of the 21-year-old. Speaking to GiveMeSport (h/t Football.London), he said:

“Crystal Palace don’t want to sell, but Olise is very close to agreeing terms with Chelsea. Obviously, players can agree terms with multiple clubs, so the most important thing in all of this is whether a deal can be reached with Crystal Palace, but he is a very concrete option for Chelsea. Therefore, he is one to watch over the coming weeks.”

Despite his young age, Olise has already established himself as an up-and-coming star in the Premier League. He has 11 assists in 37 appearances for Palace, which is an exemplary start to his career and evidence that he will only continue to get better with time.

Olise can also play as an attacking midfielder as well as a right winger, offering competition to Madueke. His dribbling, acceleration and playmaking skills make him a really exciting player to have in the team. He just seems to have that X-factor.

Let’s hope Chelsea completes the signing quickly before any other clubs enter the race. A return to Chelsea, where he was playing in the academy until 2015, would also be a chance for him to show that he has finally made it to the top. We may not be in Europe next season but our aspirations will always be to compete for the biggest trophies on offer for us.
