John Terry returns to the Chelsea youth academy following short spell at Leicester City

As per the Daily Mail, John Terry has announced that he has returned to the Chelsea academy to work with the club following his exit a month ago. He served as the assistant manager of Leicester City, unsuccessfully aiding their fight against relegation.

The former Blues’ captain joined Leicester City as their assistant coach but failed to prevent them from relegation as the Foxes were demoted to the Championship. His work done, he is now back at Cobham.

The former centre-back left the club when Frank Lampard was appointed as interim manager of the West Londoners. But after Lampard’s interim stint came to an end, there were no former Chelsea legends present at the club in a backroom capacity.

However, the arrival of Terry has now seen one of the legends back at the club. He is set to restart his work with Chelsea’s academy, which will also help Mauricio Pochettino develop young players knowing full well what it is like to play for the club.

Terry was one of the best defenders in Premier League history let alone at Chelsea. He made 715 appearances for the club, winning five Premier League titles, five FA Cups, a Europa League, and a Champions League trophy. One of our most celebrated names ever, Terry’s experience cannot be ought.

Meanwhile, the arrival of Mauricio Pochettino at the senior team will see them commence their rebuilding phase after the club endured a dismal time last season as they finished 12th in the Premier League. The arrival of Terry will put some smiles on fans’ faces, as the defender announced his return on Twitter and said:

‘’I’m delighted to be back Home working in the Academy.’’

It’s wonderful to see Terry returning to Chelsea, which is where he belongs given that he has much to offer the team. Hopefully, Terry will help the young players develop into elite athletes and assist Mauricio Pochettino in finalising who ought to be the ones to make the cut to the senior side.
