Inter Milan ready to make loan offer with obligation to buy for Chelsea star

Inter Milan will make a request to Chelsea for another loan spell for Romelu Lukaku

As per the Telegraph (subscription required), Inter Milan will urge Chelsea for another loan spell for Romelu Lukaku, with an option to buy the striker for €30 million after the completion of his loan.

The Blues are exploring options to sell the 30-year-old for a permanent deal and have set a new price tag of around £34 million. The club wants to gain a healthy amount of profit from his departure after they bought him for £97.5 million from Inter in the 2021–22 season.

However, Inter’s arch-rivals AC Milan have also shown interest in signing the striker, while Juventus are also considering making a move for the Belgian forward if their star attacker Dusan Vlahovic leaves the club.

It is also understood that the Old Lady are anticipated to hold talks with the club for the striker in the coming weeks. The former Everton player has also attracted interest from Saudi Arabian clubs, but the 30-year-old has made his feelings clear that he wants to continue in Europe.

Inter remains a possible destination for Lukaku, but their financial issues have made it difficult to sign the striker permanent deal. This potential offer for the striker from I Nerazzurri appears feasible given that they will be required to purchase him after his loan period is through in the following year, which is beneficial for all parties.

Considering sending him on another loan with no option to buy will see the striker return to Chelsea once again. And that would mean having the headache of thinking about his future once again.

Lukaku has made it obvious that he wants to play for the Italian team, so keeping him would be pointless. He is also 30 and not getting any younger for us, and we also have to sort out Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s future at the club.

This seems like a summer of exodus in all positions but the No. 9 area needs our utmost attention. Christopher Nkunku’s arrival doesn’t mean we should give up on the hunt for a proper No.9. The Frenchman has, after all, usually played in a role behind the centre-forward.
