Transfer boost for Chelsea as major summer transfer targets nears personal terms

Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo close to agreeing personal terms with Chelsea

Chelsea have almost agreed personal terms with Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo regarding a move in the ongoing transfer window, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.

The Blues are still putting together a deal to acquire the services of the Ecuador international. However, the Stamford Bridge side are yet to put in an official offer on the Seagulls’ table for him.

As things stand, the West London club have a lot on their plate in terms of completing the departures of players like Kai Havertz, Mateo Kovacic and those going to Saudi Arabia.

But it seems like just a matter of time before Chelsea intensify their pursuit for Caiceod’s signature. The 21-year-old is also keen on making a move to the Stamford Bridge side this summer.

The Ecuadorian has developed into a fine player at Brighton. The East Sussex-based club signed the youngster in January 2021 from Independiente del Valle.

However, it was in the second half of the 2021/22 season when Caicedo thrived under former Chelsea boss Graham Potter at the Amex Stadium side. In the previous campaign, the midfielder took his game to the next level under Roberto De Zerbi.

At Chelsea, we signed Enzo Fernandez in the previous transfer window. However, we lost Jorginho to Arsenal in January. N’Golo Kante has left for Al-Ittihad. Mateo Kovacic is also set to sign for Manchester City.

The Stamford Bridge side are now left with a lack of depth in the middle of the park. As a result, the Blues evidently need to add reinforcements to their ranks in the coming months.
