Florian Plettenberg reveals Thomas Tuchel is intrigued by Chelsea transfer target Declan Rice

Thomas Tuchel, the former manager of Chelsea, is interested in signing Declan Rice, and even Bayern Munich’s management believes that his presence will benefit the team’s defensive midfield, according to transfer journalist Florian Plettenberg.

While Arsenal are contemplating a sizable offer for the former Chelsea junior player, Chelsea are still interested in the 24-year-old England international.

Rice has also expressed his desire to play in the Champions League in the upcoming season and has hinted that he would sign with a Premier League team.

It is believed that Arsenal will bid £90 million for the midfielder, but rumours suggest that Manchester United are more likely to match that price.

Meanwhile, Bayern have also entered the race but are not sure they will meet his asking price, as Plettenberg confirmed on Twitter:

“News #Rice: He‘s one of the desired players of #Tuchel confirmed. Bayern bosses are also convinced that he’s the perfect defensive midfielder for Bayern.”

“There were talks with the players’ management, and Tuchel is 100% involved. But Bayern is aware of the fact that Arsenal is pushing for him. His price: around £70 million. players management, and Tuchel is 100% involved. But Bayern is aware of the fact that Arsenal is pushing for him. His price: around £70m. Very difficult transfer target.”

Now each month there is a new club interested in Rice, and we cannot blame it given he has become one of the best midfielders in Europe in recent seasons. It will become tough to sign him with all three interested clubs offering him Champions League football, so it will be very challenging for us to sign him in the summer window.

Rice is familiar with Chelsea since he played there as a young player, and once the club’s rebuilding process is over, they will undoubtedly resume their pursuit of all trophies given that we are the only London team to have won both the Premier League and the Champions League.

More Chelsea News:

Rice is no passenger. West Ham are a better team because of Rice and hopefully, he is up for the challenge to build Chelsea into a top team again where he is valued as one of the big fishes in a small pond
