Frank Leboeuf asks Frank Lampard to quit his interim managerial role at Chelsea

Frank Leboeuf has urged Frank Lampard to step down from his interim management position after Chelsea lost to Brentford 2-0 at Stamford Bridge.

Lampard’s term as interim manager has started off in the worst way conceivable since. The former Blues midfielder hasn’t won a game and has lost all five games so far, scoring just one goal in the process.

And now that there are just seven games left, including some major contests against Arsenal, Newcastle United, Manchester United, and Manchester City. Lampard’s role may turn into a nightmare if he fails to win any of them.

Todd Boehly appointed the 44-year-old as Chelsea’s search for a new manager continues for the upcoming season. So far, it has proven to be a disaster.

The fact that the team is holding on because of the points they earned under Thomas Tuchel at the very beginning of a dismal season has been even more painful. Replacing him was a poor call indeed.

And former Chelsea defender Frank Leboeuf made it clear that he does not want to see Lampard in the dugout when he spoke to ESPN (h/t Metro).

‘We said it all; there is nothing. I have to say maybe to Frank Lampard, Get out, get out quickly; you can’t help them out; there is nothing you can do. They need a win to make sure they’re not going to be relegated. Again, we are talking about Chelsea; that’s appalling.”

Boehly chose Lampard because he didn’t want to choose a permanent manager in a hurry. Even though the former Everton manager was aware that he would be taking over a team that was in disarray. His stint at Everton clearly failed to scare away Boehly.

The 44-year-old is currently under too much pressure to win the remaining games; he is struggling to alleviate the burden. Additionally, the former Everton manager has only had one victory in his last 19 losses, after his defeat to Brentford.

More Chelsea News:

Although we can’t totally blame him, it has been since we recruited Graham Potter, and if we want to finish inside the top 10 of the Premier League, he will need to find a solution since we’ll be playing teams like City and Arsenal soon.
