Transfer News: Real Madrid will not meet the £130 million price of Jude Bellingham amid Chelsea interest

According to Spanish news outlet Sport (h/t Daily Mail), Real Madrid are unwilling to meet the valuation for Chelsea target Jude Bellingham. The 19-year-old is valued at £130 million by Borussia Dortmund and is among the most sought after young players in world football.

The England international is widely expected to leave the German side next summer, with a host of European elites showing interest in him. Along the Blues and Los Blancos, the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool and Manchester United are also keen.

But, with the Spanish giants now unwilling to meet the valuation, this could leave the door open for the other clubs to secure the midfielder’s signature including the west London club.

Bellingham has become one the hottest young prospects on the continent since moving to Dortmund in 2020 from Birmingham City. Since then, the 19-year-old has been a regular for both club and country.

The midfielder has played in 22 games so far this season in all competitions, scoring nine goals and registering another three assists in the process. Graham Potter could do with someone like him in his midfield.

Jorginho and N’Golo Kante are in their 30’s and past their prime. Mateo Kovacic is a good option to have, but the Croatian has struggled to keep himself fit throughout the season. Young midfielders in Conor Gallagher and Mason Mount are the future of the club.

Adding another young prospect like Bellingham in the team, would not only secure the department for years but also make it one of the best in the league and perhaps Europe. But getting the midfielder will neither be cheap nor easy.

More Chelsea News:

Bellingham is likely to feature for the Three Lions at the World Cup. Decent performances there could see his stock rise further. It remains to be seen if the Blues can beat the other top clubs for the midfielder’s signature.
