Aubameyang talked about the sacking of Tuchel and his priority at Chelsea

After the game against RB Salzburg (h/t Football.London), Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang talked about the sacking of Thomas Tuchel and his priorities under new manager Graham Potter.

The 33-year-old former Gabon international, who has played for Arsenal before, spoke about people knowing his good relationship with Tuchel when the duo was at Borussia Dortmund.

The striker added that he is yet to speak to the German after the sacking, but thinks that the manager must be sad and frustrated once the decision was made.

Here’s what Aubameyang said after the Salzburg game (h/t Football.London):

Everyone knows the relationship that I have with Thomas. It’s obviously sad when someone leaves the club and obviously, I only saw him for a few days. But this is football and when you play football you have to adapt quickly and in some moments in the season, this can happen. I think he [Tuchel] was a bit frustrated and sad. Obviously, I will try to talk to him as soon as possible.

The former Dortmund marksman went on to say that he is sad the team could not win against Salzburg. He talked about how Potter is a positive person and it is the responsibility of the team to learn from his ideas soon before applying them on the field.

Aubameyang, who was signed on the deadline day of the summer transfer window, made his home debut in this game and provided glimpses of what he can do in a blue jersey.

Having retired from international football, it is an ideal time for the 33-year-old to use the upcoming two-week international break to work with Potter and understand what the manager wants from him.

Apart from Mikel Arteta in his last few months at Arsenal, Aubameyang generally boasts good relationships with the managers he has worked with so far. Henceforth, despite the disappointment of seeing Tuchel go, we can expect the striker to gel well with Potter and give his all on the pitch.

More Chelsea News:

For a striker, once that first goal goes in playing for his new club, the confidence will come and the goals will flow. The 33-year-old would be hoping for something similar very soon, probably in Chelsea’s next game against Crystal Palace after the international break.
