Transfer News: Conor Gallagher wants to stay at Chelsea this summer

According to 90min (h/t Football.London), Chelsea loanee Conor Gallagher wants to stay at Chelsea and fight for a spot ahead of talks with Blues boss Thomas Tuchel regarding his future.

The talented Chelsea midfielder had been loaned out to Crystal Palace at the start of the season and has gone on to establish himself as one of the biggest midfield prospects in the Premier League. His importance to the Eagles cannot be undermined with Gallagher establishing himself as one of the main men of Patrick Viera’s team.

The 22-year-old English midfielder has played 39 times for the club this season scoring eight goals and providing five assists across all competitions. Although he tapered off a little towards the end of the campaign, his performances have left a lasting mark in everyone’s mind.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel wants Blues loanee Conor Gallagher to be part of the first-team squad next season.

Conor Gallagher is said to be keen on staying on at Chelsea and fighting for his place in the first team next season and is set to make his intentions clear to Thomas Tuchel ahead of their reported meeting very soon.

A bright future?

To say that Conor Gallagher has a huge future at Stamford Bridge would be an understatement and it is only a matter of time before the English midfielder makes it big.

The 22-year-old has already been rewarded for his consistent performances with three caps for the English national team and they will undoubtedly on keep increasing as years go if Gallagher continues to develop on the right path.

Chelsea have a star on their hands in Conor Gallagher.

Jorginho and N’Golo Kante both have contracts expiring next summer and if either player were to leave, it would open up a spot in midfield in Thomas Tuchel’s team. Both players have not been performing at their best in recent times and it would be good to add some competition.

Ross Barkley and Ruben Loftus-Cheek have failed to convince that they can be regular starters for the Blues and with Conor Gallagher and Billy Gilmour returning from their respective loan spells, Chelsea will have enough ammunition in the midfield department.
