Transfer News: Sevilla interested in selling Chelsea target Jules Kounde as soon as possible

According to Goal (h/t Daily Express), Sevilla wants to get rid of Chelsea target Jules Kounde ‘as quickly as possible’ in order to integrate the replacement into the team at the earliest.

Kounde has been a regular in La Liga for Sevilla and has played in 43 appearances across all competitions. The Frenchman is young, energetic and a top-notch central defender for a really good top-flight team.

Chelsea have been interested in Kounde for a long time. The Blues even came close to signing him last summer, but an agreement couldn’t be reached between both clubs, with the player still playing his football in Seville.

Chelsea want to land Sevilla star Jules Kounde.

Jules Kounde reached a verbal agreement with Chelsea last year and is still believed to be interested in moving to the West London club. With a change in ownership expected, there could be a new sporting project on the horizon for the Blues.

Sevilla are believed to be interested in selling Kounde as soon as possible. The Spanish team already understands the player’s intentions and now want to bring in his replacement and familiarize him with the tactics and the structure of the club.

Why should Chelsea sign Jules Kounde as soon as possible?

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger recently revealed his intentions to end his tenure and move away. Some other crucial defenders like Andreas Christensen and César Azpilicueta are in line for similar moves and it seems like they are as good as gone with the window yet to even officially open.

Chelsea keen on signing Jules Kounde.

These players have been crucial for Chelsea’s success in recent seasons and their departure could hurt the club’s performance severely. The club has to make sure that Tuchel doesn’t have a shortage of defenders- an area which has been the foundation of his team’s success over the past year and a half.

And that is why Chelsea would be wise to undertake a similar approach as Sevilla. Bidding farewell is always hard, but considering the future of the club, the Blues have to move on and focus on bringing reinforcements.

Kounde seems to be a good fit for the club. They might not be able to offer him a contract due to the imposed sanctions, but after the change in ownership, their interest could accelerate.

Just 23, he has a long way to go in his career and he could become even better under the guidance of a world-class coach like Tuchel.
