Chelsea confirm PL squad for the 2020/21 season

The Chelsea Premier League squad for the 2020/21 season has been confirmed (h/t Football London) and there are a few surprise inclusions. Chelsea have gotten off to a great start in the Premier League and are still unbeaten in this campaign.

Ross Barkley, Malang Sarr, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and Lewis Baker have all been included in the squad despite not playing a single minute with the first team this season.

Some of the other notable additions include youngsters like Trevor Chalobah and Lucas Bergstrom who have made their way into the Chelsea Premier League squad from the academy. Callum Hudson-Odoi is another player who has made it to the squad despite struggling to get any quality game time.

Danny Drinkwater has once again been left out of the Chelsea Premier League squad. The former Leicester player has struggled to keep himself in contention and the loan spells at Aston Villa and Burnley haven’t helped the trajectory of his career.

Chelsea have had a busy transfer window by adding high-profile names like Lukaku and Niguez to their squad for the new season. They have also let go of players like Tammy Abraham, Kurt Zouma, and Tino Livramento at the same time.

The Blues feel like a rejuvenated side ever since Tuchel took over as manager as they won the Champions League and UEFA Super Cup last season. The West London club will look to mount a challenge for the Premier League title this season and are in great shape to do so.
