Chelsea are in the process of convincing Cesar Azpilicueta, Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger to sign new contracts

According to The Mirror, Chelsea are ‘working tirelessly’ to get the trio of Cesar Azpilicueta, Andreas Christensen, and Antonio Rudiger to sign new deals at the club as all of them will be out of contract next summer.

Azpilicueta, who has been a pivotal part of every trophy the Blues have won since 2012, has captained the West London club ever since the departure of Gary Cahill in the summer of 2019.

Possibly one of the only players currently at the Stamford Bridge outfit to have won every domestic and European competition, the Blues are ready to hand the Spaniard with a new deal, should he choose to accept it.

Christensen, who has played at the club as a youth player as well, did not quite settle in the first team as a youngster and was sent out on loan. However, in the 2017/18 season, Antonio Conte decided to keep the Dane at Stamford Bridge.

Although he has been in and out of the squad, the 25-year-old has been a key part of Thomas Tuchel’s incredible defence in the last 6 months. Moreover, it is also believed that the centre-back could soon be signing a new contract at Stamford Bridge.

Antonio Rudiger, who has also played a vital part for the club since he arrived in 2017, has featured consistently for every manager at the London outfit, although he did fall down the pecking order with Frank Lampard last season.

However, the German has rejuvenated himself under Tuchel. While that is the case, the 28-year-old seems to be ‘weighing’ up his options before he decides on signing a new deal at the club, according to Sky Sports (h/t Daily Mail).

In an ideal world, the Blues would sign the entire trio to new deals, but only time will tell who leaves the London club on a free transfer and who decides to stay at Stamford Bridge beyond this season.
