Arsenal ready to meet personal terms for Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham

According to the Express, Arsenal have taken a step closer towards the signing of Chelsea forward Tammy Abraham by agreeing to meet his demands over the personal terms.

Abraham is a product of the Chelsea youth academy. A talented goalscorer, the 23-year-old had to bide his time for a chance in the first-team. After several loan spells away, the Englishman got his big break in the 2019/20 season but has seen his game time reduce drastically over the past year after the big-money signings of Timo Werner and Kai Havertz.

While Abraham still got meaningful game time under Frank Lampard, things have been completely different under Thomas Tuchal, who hardly used Abraham over the second half of the season.

His chances are unlikely to improve despite Timo Werner’s misfiring form and the club losing Olivier Giroud as Chelsea are looking to move for Erling Haaland this summer. As a result, the England international finds himself out of favour and scouring for a different club this summer.

Abraham has since emerged as a transfer target for Chelsea’s London rivals Arsenal. With both Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah in the final year of their respective deals and could be on the move, accentuating the need for a new striker.

To that end, Arsenal have narrowed in on Abraham as an option to bolster his centre-forward. Not only that, the Gunners are now ready to meet the 23-year-old forward’s wage demands as well. Indeed, Abraham is currently on a wage packet of £80,000 a week at Chelsea but wants £125,000-per-week.

More Chelsea News:

Any move from Arsenal for Abraham will hinge on their ability to offload some of their first-team members in order to make room for the Chelsea star.
